Class-selective extraction of Zeranol, its Residues and more broadly Resorcylic Acid Lactones from biological samples (urine, plasma) or animal tissues

Zeranol (or α-Zearalanol) and its residues Zearalenone, β-Zearalanol, α and β-Zearalenol and Zearalanone belong to the Resorcylic Acid Lactone family which is specifically extracted by AFFINIMIP® SPE Zeranol Residues.

Zeranol (or α-Zearalanol) is a potent nonsteroidal growth promoter extensively used in the United States and Canada to promote rapid growth rates in animals. Nevertheless, its use is banned in several countries (e.g. European directive 96/22/EC and in China).

AFFINIMIP® SPE Zeranol Residues are selective solid phase extraction cartridges that selectively clean and concentrate Zeranol residues prior to analysis by HPLC.

Benefits

  • Extraction of a broad family of Zeranol residues and Resorcylic acid lactones compounds
  • Ready for use and optimized extraction protocols adapted for each tested matrices
  • Very simple and short pre-treatment sample

5 zeranol residues

Chromatograms obtained after purification with AFFINIMIP® SPE Zeranol Residues of urine sample spiked at 140ng/mL of α-Zearalenol and 280ng/mL Zearalenone.
